After a busy week in Westminster, it was wonderful to join my local councillors in Earls Barton and speak to residents about issues that matter to them.
I was extremely impressed by the Earls Barton Library, where the Coffee Morning was held. This organisation is community managed, with over 60 fantastic volunteers: a perfect example of the rich community spirit that exists in this constituency!
We then walked around the village knocking on doors and dropping off my resident survey, inviting you to share your concerns and ways that I can support you.
The main issues that came up were:
- tackling crime & anti-social behaviour
- supporting local shops & businesses
- caring for the elderly & vulnerable
I am committed to making sure that these issues are addressed. I will be handing out more resident surveys before each coffee morning, and will also be sharing the survey on social media in due course so that you can all give your feedback!
