I have recently heard from multiple concerned constituents about the possible closure of Great Creaton Primary School. It is important to note that Northamptonshire County Council (NCC) have yet to make a decision at this time.
However, in light of this, constituents now have the opportunity to contribute to the consultation process beginning 22nd March until 17th May. NCC intends to consult with stakeholders using the following methods:
- A public meeting: Thursday 19th April 2018 between 6.30pm and 8pm.
- Email: schoolconsultation@northamptonshire.gov.uk
- Feedback forms: Chris Wickens, Strategic Planning Team, property, Northamptonshire County Council, one Angel Square, Angel St, Northampton, NN1 1ED
- SurveyMonkey: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/GreatCreatonProposedClosure
This period of consultation will be used to inform a further decision to be taken by NCC’s Cabinet as to whether or not the proposal to close Great Creaton Primary proceeds.
I would encourage as many interested constituents as possible to submit feedback and have your say.
I will, of course, continue to follow this matter closely in order to best represent constituents. However, it is important to note that school admissions is entirely the responsibility of the Local Authority and does not fall under my remit as Member of Parliament.
