Northamptonshire Safeguarding Adults Board has launched a new website as a one stop shop for local and national information and guidance about keeping people at risk of harm and abuse safe.
The website will act as the focal point for all safeguarding information relating to adults for both residents and professionals alike.
Safeguarding policies, reports and legislation are available, along with contact information and training opportunities for the voluntary and community sector for those seeking to update or develop their knowledge and skills.
In a joint statement on behalf of the board and partners, Independent Chair of the Northamptonshire Adult Safeguarding Board Tim Bishop said: “Safeguarding is everyone’s business and having easy access to information, guidance and a means of reporting concerns about adults at risk of harm or abuse is crucial. This website is one way in which we intend to help keep people safe. Our ambition is to ensure this new site is recognised as the go to place for safeguarding information whether that person is a local resident, a social care worker or other interested person.
“We are also developing information leaflets for professionals, care providers and citizens to help raise awareness of safeguarding. Most importantly we want people to know that if they have a concern about an adult they can use this website to report those concerns”.
Northamptonshire’s Adult Safeguarding Board is the lead body for developing multi-agency policies and procedures to safeguard and promote the welfare of adults in Northamptonshire. The board is made up of key partner agencies that play a vital role in securing the wellbeing of vulnerable adults in the county.
The launch of the new website will see most of this information reside in one place and include the latest news and updates from the agencies.
