The SME Brexit Support Fund has opened this week, to support small and medium sized businesses adjust to new customs, rules of origin, and VAT rules when trading with the EU.
The £20 million Fund could give you up to £2,000 to help with training or professional advice on how to complete customs declarations, how to manage customs processes and use customs software and systems, and specific import and export related aspects including VAT, excise and rules of origin. You may be eligible for this grant if your business has up to 500 employees and makes no more than £100 million annual turnover.
I understand that changes to customs rules have been challenging for SMEs across the UK, and this is why I encourage business owners to apply for support. Applications close on the 30th June 2021, or earlier if all funding is allocated before this date.
