The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious awards for UK businesses, designed to recognise outstanding achievements in the fields of Innovation, International Trade, Sustainable Development and Promoting Opportunity (through social mobility).
This year’s winners include two Daventry-based firms - Blue Skies Holdings Ltd (for Sustainable Development) and Bambino Mio Ltd (for International Trade). This is wonderful news, particularly at such a challenging time for British business, and is a real testament to the innovative spirit of our local companies. The Awards will be conferred by a Grant of Appointment (symbolised by the presentation of a crystal trophy by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant at the winner’s business premises). Representatives from the winning firms are also invited to attend a celebratory Royal Reception at Buckingham Palace later this year.
Queen’s Awards recipients gain access to a recognised Royal Emblem for five years, which boosts their brand and leads to global recognition, increased sales and growth, and access to new markets.
If you’re a local business owner and you’d like to apply for the next round of the QAE, you can do so from 1st May 2020. The deadline for entries is 9th September 2020, and you can find further information and eligibility criteria online here.
