During the past seven weeks West Midlands Trains have been operating a reduced service - supporting essential travel despite staff shortages so that key workers can continue to travel by train.
There will be a measured increase to these train services from Monday 18th May 2020 - whilst social distancing advice is still in place, capacity on trains remains limited and people should continue to avoid public transport and only travel by train if their journey is essential. Those who do travel are urged to follow government advice to wear face coverings. Other measures such as one-way systems at stations may be in operation and passengers should try to buy their tickets in advance online.
Rail users are also being advised to check their journeys carefully before travelling. The new timetable includes the reinstatement of certain services which were temporarily halted last month. The new timetables and updated travel advice are now available to view online at www.wmr.uk/timetables or www.lnr.uk/timetables.
