I am delighted to announce that the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has awarded the Church of St Paul and St Peter in 'Daventry' a first round pass of £218,500 with a development grant of £13,400 to enable them to develop their project to a second-round application. This project will address water ingress and repair damage to roofs, stonework, walls and flooring and includes interesting proposals to engage with the community.
A first-round pass means the project meets the HLF criteria for funding and they believe it has potential to deliver high-quality benefits and value for Lottery money. The application was in competition with other supportable projects, so a first-round pass recognises the HLF's desire to help develop the detail of the Church of St Paul and St Peter's proposal such that the HLF can assess it at the second round.
However, a first-round pass does not guarantee the applicant will receive a grant. The HLF receive more requests for grants than they can support, and the second-round application will still be in competition for funding.
The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) exists to enable all of us to celebrate, look after and learn more about our diverse heritage. From our great museums and historic buildings to local parks, oral history and photographic records, HLF grants open up our nation's heritage for everyone to enjoy.
I wish the Church of St Paul and St Peter every success in their second round application.
