I welcome the new dedicated funding from the Government to tackle potholes which will see Northamptonshire County Council (NCC) receive an estimated £1,600,000.
This is on top of the £75 million of funding already given to councils from the Pothole Action Fund this year, as well as the additional £46 million boost for highways authorities announced just before Christmas.
Potholes are a constant source of frustration for drivers and cyclists in the constituency, causing undue damage and danger. This new funding is welcome news for families and businesses in the area who rely on our roads to get around.
The funding will also help to protect the roads from any future severe weather.
I would also encourage constituents who have located and spotted potholes to help NCC target these this by using their dedicated online scheme, Street Doctor.
