I have received a great deal of correspondence from constituents on the Byfield Medical Centre recently and its application. I am aware of the overwhelming opinion being in favour of this new development and I share the view that this is a project which is seriously worthy of new funding. The centre is now managing roughly twice the number of constituents that it was initially designed to, and is on the verge of closing.
Last year, I wrote to Daventry District Council to express my support for this planning application. The Rt Hon Andrea Leadsom, MP for neighbouring constituency South Northamptonshire, has also written to the relevant bodies to express her support for the application on behalf of her constituents.
Last month, Andrea Leadsom MP and myself wrote a letter to Daventry District Council (DDC) to wholeheartedly throw our weight behind the construction of the centre. The showing of local residents on the 15th January really demonstrated the feeling around this issue and I will continue to support it.
You can read both of our letters below.
