I recently received a letter from Highways England informing me of essential maintenance works on the A5 between Towcester Roundabout and Weedon.
The work is scheduled to begin this month and is expected to be completed around the end of July 2020. The changes will include improving drainage, repairing road surface and fresh road markings.
Work will take place through the night (8pm to 6am) on every day of the week, with some weekends being selected for full closure.
I receive a great deal of correspondence from constituents with the regard to the state of this stretch of road, and I have continually raised these issues with Highways England. I’m glad to see that this work is now taking place to improve traffic flow and tackle potential flooding.
Highways England have taken several measures to ensure that this work can minimise disruption to local businesses and traffic concerns. If you have any specific concerns about how this may affect you, Highways England have asked that you contact them either via email at dean.holloway@highwaysengland.co.uk, or via Telephone: 07925 893416.
